With the creation of the bahina Sàrl in 2007 the two sisters Annick Jordi und Noëlle Vieillard-Jordi had their longtime dream come true. The name bahina is Hindi and means „two sisters“.
The younger sister, Noëlle, is a trained gemologist G.G., A.J.P. and received her degree at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in New York. She has acquired several years of work experience in the field of jewelry and diamond trading at such well known companies as Christie’s in Geneva. Annick has studied design in Paris and has graduated with a BS in marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T) in New York and a master’s degree in political sciences from the University of Geneva.
This united know how is the foundation of bahina. Because the two sisters could never find jewelry that they really liked, they decided to launch their own collection. During their trips to India they are looking for the most exquisite and colorful stones in Jaipur – the center of stone cutting – and then have them set into 18K-gold valuables according to their designs.
Five years after the successful launch of their jewelry line bahina jewels, the two sisters introduced their own Pashmina line bahina joy. It all started by them getting more and more approached by friends and customers regarding the colorful scarfs they brought back from their trips to India. Out of a personal passion a new business entity was born.
